Our Primary Play Day will be held on Thursday, May 17^th for the morning. The students will be participating in; ball throw, long jump and a 100m run as well as a long distance run. It is a casual day for all the students, but we are asking that you please dress your child in athletic clothing, sunscreen and a hat. They should also have a water bottle with them to be refilled throughout the morning. Parents are welcome to watch and cheer for their athlete as well!

We are looking for some snack donations to nourish our young athletes. If you are able, could you please bring in one of the following by Wednesday, May 16th:

*Orange slices

*Juice boxes

*Box of FROZEN freezies

Jeff has been serving in Haiti since 1995 and Malawi, Africa since 2002. Jeff and his brother (Ben) buy Swiss military trucks and bring them to Canada where Jeff and some local men retrofit them for use as mobile medical trucks, well-drilling trucks and also use for food distribution. In addition, Jeff gives in country support as he goes to Haiti and Africa every year- (sometimes up to 5 times a year) to work on the trucks and make sure they are running well. Jeff has also heading up and helped build a Fish Farm in Malawi- supporting the project finically and hands on. He is involved in the infrastructure of the mission compounds and also with water purification/water towers. He organizes yearly containers with much needed supplies for Africa and Haiti and DR. Jeff is currently working on a hydroponics project and solar project in Malawi. There are many other ways that Jeff is involved in mission work around the world.

We will postpone the ALPA toonie casual day until next Thursday May 17th (Friday is a P.A. Day).

You will have heard the buzz about Battle of the Bands -  the SickKids Fundraiser led and organized by a group of Grade 5 volunteers (with a little help from parents). The big event is on May 10th from 4.00pm to 6.00pm! There’ll be air bands (15 bands, no less!!!) with members from various classes, amazing music, a phenomenal speaker, fantastic prizes, lots and lots of food and great family fun! Most important of all, this event is about our kids coming together to give back to others less fortunate than they are.

Let’s come out and support our children as they ROCK FOR THE KIDS!!! Pick your tickets up at the school front desk for $5/person. Raffle tickets are also available at $2 or 6/$10.

Monday May 14^this our French Assembly.  It will be casual day for grades 1-4 only. Come in your Sunday/holiday best (no
shorts, jeans or t-shirts with writings). You can bring your casual day clothes to change into after the French Assembly if you want.

The following students who are actors in the play need to come to school at 8:15 for face paint and to get into costume.  EVERYONE ELSE COMES TO SCHOOL AT THE USUAL TIME.
